APC work in partnership with our Clients and in line with Care Quality Commission (CQC) to achieve and maintain a clean clinical environment for all its users. Our professional cleaners are qualified to a minimum NVQ 2 level, experienced and referenced.  Our cleaners clean and remove contaminants, including dust and soil, large numbers of micro-organisms and the organic matter that may shield them, for example: faeces, blood and other bodily fluids within the clinical environment. Our professional cleaners undertake clinical cleaning services in Birmingham and surrounding areas and cater to any cleaning demands and undertake (before inspection and after inspection cleans) or one-off emergency cleans adhering to the national cleanliness standards set down by the (CQC).

Specialised PPE

All cleaners wear specialised personal protective equipment when they undertake clinical cleaning:

  • When our cleaners visit for example, a medical room and an office within the same premise they will change into white overalls, disposable shoe covers, fresh gloves, and a head cap and complete first the clinical cleaning tasks
  • After finishing cleaning the medical room our staff will change into their regular cleaning uniform and carry out the general cleaning of the office and surrounding areas.

We focus on the ‘Cleanliness and Infection Control Standard’ as laid down and quoted herein below by the (CQC) which is incorporated into our compliant cleaning service as follows:




  • Examples of Written Evidence:

This could be infection control, hand washing and cleaning audits with appropriate actions

  • Examples of Evidence on Inspections could be:
  • Observation of staff following correct infection control procedures
  • Signage in place
  • Sharps procedures in place
  • Visibly clean and tidy environment
  • Hand cleaning and equipment cleaning facilities
  • Staff follow policies and procedures regarding infection prevention and control and hand hygiene
  • The environment and equipment should be visibly clean and this should be monitored
  • Sharps and COSHH should be stored and disposed of appropriately

Deep Cleaning of all the clinical areas every 6 months (in accordance with the (CQC ) national cleanliness standards.

  1. Empty all cupboards and any storage areas. Remove all electronic equipment from the room (we can help here)
  2. Steam clean ceilings, walls, doors, door frames, windows, ledges, window frames, all horizontal and vertical surfaces, skirting boards, couch, curtain, tables, chairs, hand wash sink, waste bins and floors
  3. Wipe lights, switches, and medical equipment with anti bacterial disinfectant
  4. Dry all steamed surfaces by blowing hot air and wipe with sterile disposable towels as appropriate


For the regular clinical cleaning we undertake the following tasks: (in accordance with the (CQC ) national cleanliness standards.

  1. Clean all horizontal and vertical surfaces using professional disinfectant and disposable cleaning towels
  2. Sanitise telephones, keyboards and computers if any in the room
  3. Wipe and change bin liners and dispose clinical waste appropriately
  4. Wipe walls with disinfectant

Steam the hard floors before mopping with hot water solution with disinfectant.
